How This Guide Treats Your Personal Data

Effective from 10 October 2026. This notice explains how the editorial team behind the Blitzbet guide handles the personal data of readers in the United Kingdom under the UK General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. The guide’s editors decide what data is collected and why, so they are the controller. The guide is separate from the Blitzbet operator, which runs its own accounts under its own privacy terms. Questions about this notice go to [email protected].

Nothing else is collected from the readers of this guide. The guide has no sign-up, comment form, newsletter list, payment page or download that asks for details.

What the guide never asks for

The editors will not ask for a Blitzbet password, a card number, a bank login, an identity document or a screenshot of a balance. A message that seems to come from the guide and asks for any of these is not from us. If a reader sends such an item by mistake, we delete it on receipt and tell the sender.

Cookies and similar technologies

The guide does not set advertising, profiling or social-media cookies. Pages are served without cross-site tracking, so no consent banner is needed. If a strictly necessary cookie is ever added, for example to remember a display choice, it will be listed here before it is switched on, because the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations allow such cookies without consent but still expect transparency.

Pages link to the Blitzbet site and mention services such as Skrill, Neteller, MiFinity and Paysafecard. Once you follow a link, the operator or provider is the controller of whatever you enter there. The identity documents you upload for verification, the card details you give at the cashier and the messages you send to Blitzbet live chat go to Blitzbet, not to us, and we cannot see, retrieve or delete them. Their privacy terms apply to that data. To obtain a copy of what Blitzbet holds, or to ask for its deletion, write to the operator through its 24-hour live chat or support email.

Who else sees the data

Messages are read by the editors. The hosting provider and the email provider process data on our behalf, under contracts that limit them to our instructions. We do not sell personal data, rent a mailing list or share data with betting companies, and we do not pass reader messages to the operator unless you ask us to forward a specific complaint.

Transfers outside the United Kingdom

If a hosting or email provider processes data outside the UK, the transfer relies on UK adequacy regulations or on the ICO’s international data transfer agreement or addendum. A reader who wants to know which providers are involved can ask at the editorial address and will get the names in the reply.

Your rights

You can ask us to confirm whether we hold data about you, to send you a copy, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict its use, to move it to another provider, and to stop processing that rests on legitimate interests. We reply within one month, charge nothing for a normal request and may ask you to confirm your identity by replying from the address you used before. All of these rights are exercised through the same editorial address.
If you are not satisfied with the answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. You are not required to contact us first, although the editors would like the chance to put a problem right.

Making a request: what to write and what you receive

Write to [email protected] from the address you used before, name the right you want to use and, for a correction, quote the wrong detail. A copy of your data arrives as a plain-text email containing the stored thread and any log entry tied to your address. If a request is unusually complex or one of several from the same person, UK GDPR lets us extend the one-month deadline by up to two further months. We would tell you within the first month and say why.

Messages about gambling harm

A reader who writes that gambling is causing them trouble is sharing information about their health, which the law treats with particular care. These messages get a short human reply that points to the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133 and to the other services listed on the responsible gambling page. They are used for nothing else, are not forwarded to anyone and are deleted 30 days after the last exchange, which is shorter than the 12 months that apply to ordinary enquiries.

Other people’s details in your message

If you write about a relative, a friend or a named employee, please include only the details the question needs. We use such details only to answer you and delete them with the rest of the thread. If you are the person mentioned in someone else’s message, you can ask us what we hold about you in the same way as any other reader.

Profiling and automated decisions

No decision about a reader is made by automated means. There is no scoring, no recommendation engine and no personalised page. Every reader sees the same text, and no reply is generated from your message without an editor reading it first.

Readers under 18

The guide is written for adults; gambling is for people aged 18 or over, and we do not knowingly keep data from anyone younger. If a message comes from someone who says they are under 18, we answer with the helpline details on the responsible gambling page and delete the message.

Backups and archives

The editorial mailbox is backed up by the email provider, and deleted messages leave those backups when the provider’s cycle overwrites them, normally within 35 days. During that period the copy is kept out of use and is not restored except to recover from a failure. A deletion request is therefore complete for us at once, and complete in the provider’s systems within about five weeks.

Requests from authorities

Personal data is disclosed to a court, police force or regulator only when the law requires it and after the editors have checked the request. We tell the reader about the disclosure unless the law forbids it, and we hand over only what the request names.

Security

Access to the editorial mailbox is limited to the editors, protected by a password and a second factor. Messages are not exported to spreadsheets or shared drives. If a breach affected your data in a way that put you at risk, we would tell you and the ICO within the legal deadlines.

Verifying that a request comes from you

To guard against impostors, the editors answer rights requests only at the address they came from, and for deletion or a copy they ask you to confirm one detail from your earlier message, such as its subject line or the month it was sent. We never ask for a passport or a utility bill for this purpose, because that would mean collecting more data to protect the data we already hold.

Changes to this notice

When the notice changes materially, for instance because a new tool begins to process data, the effective date at the top moves to the date of the change and the new text replaces the old on this page. The editors keep earlier versions, sent on request.
